in this article we will see if it is better (cheaper to buy the specialists or to produce them. As we see most raws are 1-on1 if you try to exchange so it may be interesting to see at which price is better to mine gold and buy the worker.

So....

An unskilled worker costs 10 vegetables and 25 meat

A skilled worker (policemen, firemen, etc) costs 25 veggies and 50 meat.

so let us consider a price of 35 raws for an unskilled one and 75 fo a skilled one, but since you also need an unskilled worker for a skilled worker....the skilled worker is actually 110.

0.01 gold costs 3+5+8+10+13+15 raws so 56 raws.

so an unskilled worker when th price is over 0.006 gold should be produced. If it is under this price, it is cheaper to buy him with gold.

In the skilled department, the limit price should be 0.019 gold.

However the price of vegetables is most likely to go up (to cost more veggies to buy say clay) so the calculation is valid only for a raw per raw price of around 1.

the calculation gets more accurate if u consider the producing price for each raw.

Many of the players are used to the game mechancs of cashtowns in which workers are always produced (on the market they are in gold and since gold is available only by buying...it is cheaper to produce.) So the message this article sends is basically to open  your eyes, do some calculations before doing any production as sometimes it may be cheaper to buy with gold than to produce with raws.

Another advice i give you is to not fill the map with vegetables farms to change veggies for everything else. Even though at the moment it is more profitable, your main focus now is to upgrade your town. The spaces you get for free are enough to: build all 9 administrative buildings in order to raise the houses to q10, build a schoold, 2 warehouses and u have 3-4 free spaces. One of which should be the gold mine. Since the margin for error is small, a recklace strategy will result in the need to clear terrain and also to put buildings where they are not supposed to be or demolishing some q2-q3 buildings as they can not be upgraded further. So i strongly sugget building wisely.

Peace
